I'm thrilled to unveil Olive's new frames! Don't they look classy? Move over Art Institute, you have some competition. In other news, Ms. Yankowski is busy putting up the awesome projects her 3rd graders made. Looking at the Haida tribe of the Pacific Northwest, students made "totem poles" consisting of stylized animal forms.
Where does the time go? It's already the third week of specials at Olive. Our kids have settled nicely into the routine and I'm excited to get projects underway. Our kindergarten students are learning about color, the basis of so much art making. With mouse paint as our guide, we are making a college of features Model Magic mixed colors! In other news, the Art Institute has a terrific exhibition on Hokusai. They rarely have so many prints of his on view so look while you can. Every year Olive's 1st graders study his artwork. |
