It has been a great 3 weeks in Art Buffet! During our final week, students finished painting their version of Claude Monet's San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk. They also glazed their log cabins, to which they add a roof and created an environment to display them in. Lastly, we made two oil pastel drawings, one based on another Monet painting and the other an exploration of abstract art.
Or does it go this way......?
As we wrapped up our Sculpture Spectacular class, we finally got to paint the masks we made with paper mache on the first day. They took forever to dry but our patience was rewarded as I think they look pretty awesome. Students finished this mask. based on a personal hero of theirs, with acrylic paint, permanent marker, and a variety of materials for "hair." We also created a miniature food sculpture using Model Magic and wove a placemat with construction paper for it to lay upon. Lastly, students created a sculpture out of recycled materials.
